Amsterdam is a lot of fun and it's a really cool place to spot microcars, and oddities. First time I saw Brabus Smart cars in the wild. Tons of interesting "A" size cars, old Fiat 500s and other fun stuff. And 2 million bikes. From the coffehouses to the museums to every cuisine on the planet, there's something for everyone to like about Amsterdam, except that it's one of the only places I've been were no one picks up after their dogs! Everyone should visit it at least once :)

In amsterdam at the moment - lots of wagons here almost more than sedans. Audis
are very popular but surprised to see so much Volvo v70's old and new. Rest of
the city pedal powers it. I bike daily too but have not rented one here...

Advant. The A8 has been a great car but I feel it's the wrong fit for me. As my
wife and I have three sedans and one sports car we need something more utility
wise. Why I'm thinking of getting an avant is because of three things I do
throughout the year. 1) Sailing, need the car to transport bit and pieces (27
foot cabin sailboat) 2) We go car camping maybe three times a year. 3) Getting
me to the ski hill and home safely. I have to drive something that is a
statement(audi) rather than driving something like a dodge caliber or Nissan
Moreno.

 > My main passion is definitely the V8. I've been working hard the last couple
of night getting the Euros in. In Canada since the late 80s cars have to have
their headlights on, we call them daytime running lights . this leads into why
I'm having some challenges putting in these lights into the car. There are four
lights per side, low and high beam, side light and a "tiny light or called the
indicator light " under the low beam . kind of like a flashlight bulb. When I
turn the car on I get low beam and the Indicator light. When the car is running
and I turn the on park lights, the front sidelights don't come on. The side
light issue will have to be sorted out by using the original wiring directly to
the side lights. It would be nice when I start the car I get only the indicator
light, when I turn the park lights I get the indicator and the side light, when
I turn the headlights on I get Headlights, side light and indicator light off.
High beam works great.
 > Fog light .oops, Last year I thought I would put a yellow bulb in the fog
lights instead of the clear ones . big mistake. When I was taking the bumpers
off I realized that I had melted and damaged the both socket areas. Lesson
learned, but I have spare fog lights so I should be okay there.
 > I also bought new AUDI side badges for the trim in front of the driver and
passenger doors . the other ones were looking a big shady. I'm going to have to
figure out by looking at my manual how to replace the emblems.
 > The previous owner of the car had painted the car an Alpine white, which I
like as I don't like the cream white that it use to be painted. A few years ago
I got hooked on the Shammy Wow product, but Shammy Wow as a washing/ cleaning
cloth was not a good idea !!! Stupid me used it for a summer to wash the car
with and I ended up scratching the shit out of the paint. I have made an awful
mess of the paint, it's to the point I've got my body guy coming over to have a
look at it. It isn't that bad ,but it going to take a little work to restore the
paint ... Well that is my report. Superdave
