Update: well it seems like cyl #7 isn't working !! When I pull the spark plug leads one at a time the engine stumbles a little except cyl #7 there is no change. I'm getting spark and fuel to that cylinder. The spark plug is a nice grey colour at the electrode. Tomorrow I'm going to do a compression test on all the cylinders. So I guess there might one of four outcomes 1) head gasket 2) valve problem 3) possible fuel inj. Problem. 4) piston ring problem. SD

Subject: [V8] Oil cap
Just working away on my car trying to track down a misfire of some sort. The car feels like it is running on 7 cylinders. Check all the spark plugs for any sort of deposits and everything seemed to be fine. I'm just checking vacuum leaks and about to pull codes to. Now on my 5000 CDQT 87 whenever I pulled my oil cap the car would stall out .... Should that rule apply to the V8 cheers superdave
