I cut a 20mm long piece off a 10mm Allen wrench, then put it the starter
bolt with a 10mm gear wrench over the allen. Bolt went in an out very
easily this way. IIRC I may have used a large screw driver to guarantee
that the allen was well seated in the starter bolt. You could use a box,
open end etc. wrench, as long as you can get it snug on the Allen.
The cut allen sits in the specialty tool section of my toolbox, as long
as I have it, I will never need it again. Just like those parts that sit
around for decades, you'll only need them after you give them away or
toss them.
BCNU,
Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.
