[V8] Avant no charging

I have NO BTDT with this particular model, I have no idea if this
applies.   

But if it has an exciter or field wire like the earlier models did, this
was usually the cause when similar things happened.  Check it for breaks
or bad connection, it was blue on the 5K's IIRC.
