[V8] Original '91 5-speed with 4.2 swap going to wrecking yard

Steve
Might be time to let it go to the yard.... 6 months ago when you posted the same email, I forwarded the news to a buddy in TX. After several rounds of emails and delays, the deal didn't happen. IIRC2 "looks rough" would be an understatement, as the car needed too much to seriously be a contender for much more than a track car, at best.

Parting out 5speeds can be profitable, but it requires commitment, time and a very tight market. I'm not 'down' on v8's, just proposing that saving them all, is hardly realistic, especially non runners. The math to make the tow dollars + the sell dollars + the time to strip - current parts value = A tough justification.

I'd wager by the time all is said and done, a couple quick parts removed by the 'seller' then call for the tax deduction or by weight recycler, might prove to be the best avenue.

Not to start a huge thread, but IMdirectE with parting Audis (with my own truck and trailer), that math is really tough to make work. Worse when the only real money is in the Clutch/trans and rear diff. That's 1000USD, anything left is available on any year v8.

I saw Gerry's car the other day ... sure it looks rough, but it is still a rare
California car (IIRC). He is talking about sending it to the wrecker soon. It
sure seems to me it would be a good candidate for someone to part out (wish I
had room to do the party out myself), if not to restore.
