Most of that cost may be parts. I think the hoses were over $100 each years ago. It would be possible to bend some pipe and create your own- if you we're so inclined. I did it, but eventually went back to the OEM hose.
You need to remove quite a bit of stuff to do the job too. Nothing hard- just time.
