[V8] Fan Motor

I bought a New fan motor at Parts Geek. There is a choice of three  
German brands. One day in Fall, I will try the clamshell method for  
replacement. My '93 fan motor works fine, but the fan blade hits the  
housing. Has anyone fixed this problem w/o replacing the entire unit?
