Be sure to remove the black plastic covers on the distributor caps. They can cause all sorts of strange behavior. They add no benefit and actually cause the caps to arc and short out.
Next maybe try some seafoam or similar to de-carbon.  If the engine is original, you pretty certainly have worn valves.  It is possible to replace the seals without removing the heads but it is a temporary fix.
You also probably have crap for gas in the tank at this point.
