Brad, Brad, Brad,
The answer is obvious. Buy anouther 1990, 1991 V8Q, and your old one becomes your parts car. When the new / old parts car is used up you send it to the junk yard.

Subject: [V8] End of the line?? Advice Requested -- Also looking to buy a car
My 12 year love/hate relationship with my 1990 V8 automatic seems to be
coming to an end. 258,000 miles. Need to replace radiator due to tranny
fluid leak in the radiator. Parts and labor exceed $700, so I'm not wanting
to continue to sink money into the car. I have (8) wheels for this car -- 4
for summer tires, 4 for winter tires. (Does anyone have an inexpensive used
radiator for sale? This could change my mind.)
I could use some advice on the best way of getting rid of the car and
generating the most money.
I see a few options -- I'm sure some of you might suggest some more.
1) Sell to local junkyard (any suggestions as to what price I should expect
to be offered?
2) Try to sell it on Craigslist/Ebay.
3) Part it out. Not sure how to do this. I live out in the country on 5
acres and have plenty of room. At some point, I would need to have it
hauled away for scrap metal, so I guess I need to park it such that SOME
kind of tow vehicle could pick it up and take it away. Is parting out a car
a bad idea? Could I make a deal with my local mechanic where he parts it
out and we share the profits in some way?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, anyone have an Audi for sale close to Colorado Springs, please send me
info. I need to find a replacement.
Thanks to all of you for 12 years of very helpful advice!!
Brad
