[V8] Flywheel, Plastic Lenses and Fuel Pump Relay

Starter spray on a V8 motor?? God help ya.

Was the tach active during cranking? That tach active is a good way to
trouble shoot those pesky sensors, which que the fuel pump.

My son's friend was stranded '99 Golf, no start, hot engine. After I short
interview, we checked the tach out, not a signal. I told the kid I'll be
back. Went to a Haynes, got the location of the flywheel sensor, container
ice water,5- 10 minutes poking around.... tach bounced once as it turned
over, boom she was running.

Subject: [V8] Flywheel, Plastic Lenses and Fuel Pump Relay

Hey, I had had a Flywheel meltdown. I guess my fuel pump has not been
working or is clogged. I cranked the starter (while using starter spray)
and stripped a few cogs on my "92 auto V8 flywheel due to a backfire while
the bendix was engaged.. My mechanic told me that V8s come to rest in 1 of
3 positions after the switch is shutoff. I can crank the engine after
manually, passing the bald spot, using a 1/2" breaker bar and a 1 1/8"
socket on the crank bolt. Still won't start. Does anyone have a Flywheel
and are they year specific?

I got a fuel pump relay #372 from Parts Geek, however, I can not find the
relay location. The book shows it under the fuses, but I have three
aluminum 3/8" thick boxes (fuses?) there. I would like to change the relay
before thinking about changing the fuel pump. I know there have been
write-ups on fuel pump replacement, but I could use the dates or the info.

Finally, I need plastic lenses, I need all of them, particularly the
front left corner. I have had them broken-out in parking lots. If you have
any front or back let me know. Thanks! Bob, in Delaware
