Remove knee bolster/pad...lower column cover(which I believe hides
the connector you want to look at)....2 torx screws that hold on
airbag/horn pad thru 2 slots in rear of steering wheel/remove big nut/
pull wheel/loosen clamp and remove. Airbag connector is orange, but
might be covered in foam and is tucked off to right in upper or lower
cover...Not sure if necessary, but I always remove the negative
battery terminal first, as I'm like Ed, I look at that like it's 23yo
dynamite found in a shed....Ha. Lago had a melted connector(big
yellow wire as I recall) and I got a new connector shell/terminal
pins @ the dealer and was able to rebuild the connector(male/female
ends were welded together)....The connector just pulls apart, but if
you pry the purple shell apart/the wires all come free so verify
position before doing that....(I learned the hard way).....I recall
it cost about $40 in parts from the dealer(in 02), but I was glad I
was able to fix the connector and at the time, I had this new to me,
luxury high end expensive car.....Today, I'd either splice in a good
used one if I had it, or just put in a bunch of nice crimp on
individual connectors.....and of course, those headlights need to get
relayed or it will happen again.....I didn't realize the dash got
power thru that connector, so that's good to know......Tom
