"over repair" an Audi V8?.... not possible. if you plan on having it a
while and expect reliability you will bite the bullet and do everything
related to any repair from one end of the car to the other.

I've done somewhere well north of 100 v8 tb services and I've probably
seen every possible tb failure short of a broken camshaft. I've seen a
bearing come apart that both Bruce M and myself judged to be almost
perfect. I've seen a water pump fail less than a month after a tb
service and I know the pump was less than a year old because I sold it
to the owner. Again... it is simply not possible to over repair an Audi
V8. This goes for every other uncommon vehicle as well. If you don't
want to do the job right I suggest you buy a disposable means of
transport after selling your v8 to someone who will appreciate and
properly care for it.

oh, hello to all my old comrades one the list. I'm doing well these
days and I hope everyone of you is as well. :)

Crawling back under my rock,
K
