[V8] Warm V8 fuzzies...

I came home at lunch time today to find a note on my front door.  Since I
pay my bills on time and all my friends have my phone number, it seemed
odd...  ;)  Someone had driven by and seen my '91 5-speed in the driveway
and wanted to buy it.  I live on a very quiet, out of the way street so
that's odd in and of itself.

Now it made me think, what's it worth to me?  It needs $2500 in repairs,
I've been deferring things. But after that it is nice looking with very
good  paint/body/interior/mechanicals for its age.  I figure I could buy a
2000/2001 BMW 740i Sport, or similar vintage excellent mercedes large sedan
for $10k.  But really it's a wash, I'd rather have the V8 performance, and
neither of those cars is really much cheaper in maintenance long term.  So
really, I'd not let it go for less than $8k I guess.  Not that this unknown
buyer would pay that or I would try to gouge him., but just an honest
thought.  Time to liquidate some of my savings/retirement account (mostly
pre-1990 Colt Government Models) and get the V8 all re-done I think.

This is no '65 Mustang or 911, but it's interesting that once in a while
someone sees what they are and appreciates it.
