Ingo: I'll wait to see how many miles on the IC and please try to recollect if it all worked when removed. I am ready to take the iron to mine and its +100 pins at the 4 major jacks but would rather not.

Ricky: Jul 2011, Bose fixed all four of my 1990 V8Q non-playable amplified speakers; the last survivor wouldn't even pop or squeal anymore. The issue was leaked capacitors.  The 1990 V8 speakers had no history of catching fire like some of the other Audi models of that era (eg, '91 200q20v).
All I recall paying was shipping them back to the factory, they did not charge for the repairs, but they may have charged me for the return ship. Describe your car and issues, request an RMA# first and they will give you shipping instructions.

Does anyone have a working Bose amplifier? Mine is 'okay' and I am reluctant to change the head unit.
