[V8] Number of V8Q's by Model Year

I've always wondered the validity of that 1995 V8, supposedly it was
stolen at the port resulting in a 100% stolen rate by the insurance
industry. However insurance that covers consumers and their vehicles is
very different from insurance that is in effect as vehicles are being
transported and I doubt that those losses are tallied up with your typical
auto insurance metrics.
However for it to be a 1995 model it would have had to have been certified
to meet 1995 emissions and dot standards for that model year, also the V8
ceased production in late 1993 at the Neckarsulm plant allowing re-tooling
of the facility for the production of the A8, so I doubt that the Audi
federalized a single instance for the 1995 model year and have it sit
around for a year in storage to be sold in late 1994 as a 1995 model.
I would be so inclined to believe that it was a 1994 model sold in 1995,
which happens frequently with slow moving vehicles.
