during research on the V8 topic I've performed more than exhaustive over 
the last couple of years I've discovered the following facts: 

- the last Audi V8 was manufactured in Neckarsulm early 1994, as far as 
this can be told as the production tables hosted at Audi are pretty 
confusing regarding what's a V8, what's an A8, and what's an A8 
pre-series car or prototype. Playing around a bit with numbers printed 
over the years online and in literature, a small amount of cars produced 
early '94 makes sense. As there has still been a significant larger 
production in 12/93, it makes even more sense. 

- There has neven been a '95 model year VIN on any V8, but a couple of 
hundred with a '94 VIN 

- The last V8 L (long-wheel-base) has been produced at Steyr Daimler 
Puch even later - fall 1994, to be precise, when the A8 was already out 
for some time. 

- The last official US export V8 was shipped in 1993, no V8 was exported 
to the US in 1994. Export numbers per year differ hugely from yearly 
registration numbers in the US 

- Significantly more Audi V8 have been manufactured with an US setup 
than have been sold in the US in fact 

- In several countries, last V8 registrations have happened years later 
- in China in 1996, in Austria as well. Those cars have been used with 
test driving plates or as vehicles of the government, for example 

- There are remarkable differences between a '92 and '93 model, at least 
in Europe, but there is not a single technical difference between 1993 
and 1994. Rumours say that the Zexel AC compressor has been changed back 
to a Denso in last year, but I haven't checked that (even though I own 
one of the last ones, the fourth last to be precise, registered in May 
1994).
