[V8] ignition system

It's a lot more complex than that. There is a hall-effect device in the
one distributor, but there are also two VR sensors on the side of the
block. All of these sensors feed the ECU, and it triggers the TWO coils
based upon its ignition tables. It's not a simple matter to 'bolt'
something aftermarket on.
...and, having two coils, it's highly unlikely that you could rig something
up even if you used the computer's ignition outputs (unless you had TWO of
those units, and could trigger them from the coil inputs - that would work,
but read on).
If you were wanting some kind of multi-spark deal, you MAY be able to
modify something like those MSD LS2 coils to work (using two, of course) in
place of the OE coils. (They take a 5v logic input.)
...but unless you were doing something well beyond the capabilities of the
factory ECU (in which, you'd have a different ECU anyway) which would
warrant "more spark", why bother when the OE coils work fine and are
available for decent prices? (I bought some "Standard Motor Products"
coils from Rock Auto for $21.59 each, in June of 2012).
My $0.02.
