[V8] need transmission

Hello, i have a 1990 v8 quattro with a bad tranny. Started slipping really bad tonight on way home, and pump is making pretty bad sound. It wont make it much further. I NEED A TRANNY FOR HER. My location is connecticut. Im pretty sure several different year trannys will bolt to my engine. It doesn't have to be exact 1990 build.  As a matter of fact i think the engine i have in there is a 1994 a8. 4.2 which i had put in a couple years ago. 
id like to be sure i'm getting a known good tranny don't want to do all this work to find out tranny is toast.    thanks guys.    chris 1990 v8
