I bought my car in 1986, and it wasn't long after that I remember seeing the
fliers at the dealerships here in Sillyconn Valley ...

Remember that the club probably started off as a local thing in MN.  I don't
think there was an affiliation with AoA for several years.

Is that "30 year" thing accurate? That would put ACNA starting in 1984 and
even if you account for the QCUSA roots of the club, that seems pretty
early. I joined in 1993 and IIRC, the club was pretty new back then. I've
seen "Quattro Quarterly" mags from 1992....maybe 1991, but before that it
gets pretty fuzzy. 

Maybe it was the Beddors sitting in their living room in 1984 saying, "we
should start a club some day" that marked the start? :-)
