Rear Bars for v8
The 92 and wagon rear bars (17mm) can be fitted to the v8 and any type 44 for that matter (The first I fitted to an 87 5ktq back in 1995). In my opinion, that particular bar with lowering springs succeeded in reducing wheel travel more than affecting chassis balance. The net effect was the tendency to lift the front inside wheel in a turn. Which means, a stock ride height car will benefit, lowered you should expect less benefit. IIRC, the "Hapersized" rear swaybar for the UrS4/6can be sourced from Apikol, and is a bolt-on for the v8 chassis as well, and it is 25mm. Again, great for a stock suspended car, but needs the 28mm 4.2 v8 bar for proper front>rear balance.
Front Bars for v8
Type 44q = 26mm <All>
3.6 USA = 26mm <All>
4.2 USA = 26mm <most> a run of US 1993 4.2 got 28mm
4.2 Europe = 28mm <All>
ABT = 30mm (race and aftermarket, very rare)
All 28mm bars for v8s use a cast inner bracket vs the stamped on the 26mm. The ABT 30mm bars can use either (btdt).
IMO/E, before adding a rear bar the front should be upgraded. Even then, given the suspension geometry of the rear suspension in the v8, rear spring rate (linear) is probably going to give a better gain than the bar.

Thanks Ron,
It has helped me decide to put my efforts else where. I should have known with
Audi's constant "one off" design/engineering. I would have thought it would have
made a good standard Evo offering along with the spoiler, wheels and front
splitter.

I did the bar swap. I used all parts from a 95.5 urs6 Avant. U can all so use
all the parts from a 92 S4. Those are the only two cars that came with one.
You'll need, rear subframe, rear hub assemblies, bar, saddles and bushings and
end links. Easy job!!!!
As far as the larger front bat, they were not offered in the USA! There only
available in Germany.
I did a group buy a bunch of years back and I think total cost was a bit over
$300 each for all parts.
Hope this helps.
Ron
