Well, I made it today without issue. I can tell that the O2 still needs to
be replaced. She suffers from the "surging" acceleration. Other than that,
it was great. Clipped along at 80 on the way up, and 60 on the way back,
and the computer is showing me an average of 19.8 mpg. I think I have the
cruise figured out a bit. It must be a leaky vacuum line or something. I
turn the cruise on, and hit set, and I can hear a click coming from the
glove compartment area. She doesn't hold speed, but if I hold the
accelerate button, I can feel it trying to pull the pedal in, and in some
cases, it pulled it in quite a bit...but still can't hold speed. Now I need
to take a look at the vacuum lines and get this figured out. Beyond that,
the only thing on it that doesn't work is the rear defrost, and I can
clearly see broken wires around the edges, so the only fix there would be
to replace it. Everything else from the remote entry and memory system to
the alarm (found that out the hard way..) and reverse-dipping mirror all
work flawlessly.
The cruise rod on the 5000 went last week and I have it temporarily fixed
with a wire coat hanger and zip ties until I order a new one.
