[V8] 1990 heater core experience needed

Hello all:

I have been losing coolant and discovered it is coming out the drain hose
from the AC housing. At first I thought normal condensate, but in a jar it
is a light blue-green same as well diluted antifreeze.

The bottom of the fan suction duct connecting the AC housing to the fan is
dry. The heater core is dry at the left end where the hoses connect. The
core is a loose fit in the housing (previous owner had dealer replace core
at 99k miles and they must have left the sealant out; miles now are at
170k). Interior of car is dry. It is hard to believe a pinhole core leak is
humidifying the cabin only to condense on the evaporator on recirculation
and out the drain but I am at a loss for any other explanation.

Is there anyone here that had a fan/heater out that can understand how a
heater core coolant leak could be coming out the AC coil drain hose?

Is there a hose buried under the dash from the heater core housing that goes
to the AC housing drain hose to the bottom of car? I see nothing from above
and below is impossible. Etka doesn't show a heater core area drain hose,
and the fiche is of no help.

The pain of removing the heater hoses in just several cc's of available
space to get the heater out and maybe finding the core is dry has me ready
to go to plan B with the Portland OR car.

Thanks,

Pat Gillen
