[V8] Special tool 3214 - fuel pump removal

Hi, it's me again.  Changing the differential is actually a by-product of the main job, which is fuel tank replacement (rust).  Feeling inside the old tank to twist out the fuel pump, I can't quite figure it out.  Bentley is not of much help, suggesting Special Tool 3214.  I can feel two sort-of tabs that I try to press towards the inside with one hand and then twist counterclockwise, but something is still keeping the pump from twisting.  I can't fit both hands into the opening.  What am I missing?
