Sorry Bob and Kneale, I just found your replys in the archives. I discovered
why I didn't get them as emails as my V8 configuration needed work and is
now fixed.

Today I pulled the heater box, what a chore getting that last 2 inches with
the AC and other hoses and wiring. After disassembly, I found evidence of
leaks at each core header, and lots of cracks in the heater-fan housing from
overheating around the core that JB Weld is now mending. The bottom of the
housing was mostly dry, though it was wet under the core headers.

The only thing I can figure is very fine leaks were absorbed into the
airstream and condensed out on the AC coil which should only occur on full
recirc. This has been the x's daily driver until redtagged last Feb so it
is hard to tell what other stories come into play, like why is the coolant
so diluted and just how fogged up were the windows last winter.

To help others get their heater-fan box out, the following link by Chris
Miller is reissued with the removal procedure apparently written by Tom
Forhan. Thanks Tom and Chris as it was great help.

The missing piece in the writeup is to look at the picture in the fiche or
the manual. Due to the rearward duct connection, the box can only come out
by rotating the fan upwards. No brainer after you see it but.

I'll update you after I get it all back together in a few days.
