[V8] Step 1 complete

Went out to carry on with Step 2. Decided to check pressures and fluids on wife’s car before she left for work. Nail in RR tire and hood release cable non-operative. Since bumper off the 94 was able to see how to pop hood on 1990 v8. After a few tries, got it open. Determined problem to be broken plastic cone on hood opening mechanism. Observed that said cone on the 94 is not plastic but metal. Turned to 92 parts car, retrieved metal cone, installed it on 90, aired  up tire with nail, wife off to work. Returned hood mechanism to operating condition using a washer in place of cone. By now early morning coolness gone, am all sweaty, hungry, and have to pee. Thunderstorm ensued. Now sun back. Will pik up again with Step 2 after shade returns to driveway service area.
