Oh, yeah. That other part. It is mandatory the cars have all wheel
drive. I am LOOOOOONG beyond the point where I can justify only front
let alone, rear wheel drive since the AWD systems are so good and no
longer cause much loss of fuel mileage. I hae watched the VW wagons
develop, but they're all too small for our purpose. Several years ago
my wife and I sat in both an Audi allroad and an Audi A4 Avant. The A4
was simply too small, and the allroad too expensive at that point. I
have given some thought about a more recent Audi Avant, but the newer
they get, the more elecronically gizzie they are. Something else also:
many have told me that the Avant was seriously cheapened in the newer
models, and the engines made considerably more complex for no real return.
No...not the Honda Crosstour. Because it is, well, just a Honda
Crosstour and dull. Dunno why the MDX is so interesting to me. Maybe
it's because so many didn't like it and only about 6500 were sold. In
fact, it is still possible to buy new, 2013 MDX's. (although I wouldn't).

They’ve come a l-o-n-g way since the Rabbit years. Put a set of snow tires on one, and you should be able to handle a Maine winter.
