I am now the proud (stupid?) owner of a 2002 allroad. What I have learned so far is the compressor is easily rebuildable for $30. It is easy to do. I put new Arnott gen 2 air springs on the front. They have a lifetime warranty and are pretty easy to install. While in there I replaced all the control arm bushings - pretty cheap considering the cost of new parts. Now no problems with the suspension. There is no magic in this system. Troubleshoot it like any other thing that is supposed to hold air pressure. Your primary tool may be a spray bottle of soapy water to find leaks. You may want to make sure your pump is not running continuously due to a failed relay. That gets expensive. In your case, you may not be getting power to the pump. Check fuses, wiring/connectors, etc. a volt meter should tell you all you need to know.
