Good luck on finding a wagon replacement.  I’ve craigslist shopped Mercedes C-class and E-class wagons, but my Beetle soldiers on. For the record, the Beetle can swallow a half dozen 8’ 2x4s with the hatch closed, passed between the seats to rest on the (towel covered) dash. I even managed to carry some 10’ 1/2” PVC pipe, flexed to fit.
