I have been driving the V8 for several weeks now and the power steering does not appear to be leaking. I asked about the whining and stutter here and it was suggested there was some air in the system. The car had been sitting for ~ year or more. It has improved but here are my symptoms. There is a whining most of the the time, I assume its coming from the pump. When turning at low speed I still get a stutter. So the bearing is on its way out? This car appears to have a history of problems with the power steering  the pump all hoses fluid everything short of the rack has been replaced in the last 25,000 miles. When I did the bomb test with the brake pedal I go to 60 pumps and still had pressure left to go so it should be OK.  I never experienced any of these troubles with my previous V8 or UrS4 so what should I check first? This seems like a short time for the pump to fail.  The car otherwise is running well. Still needs a heater core and should have a timing belt job. I looked int he knowledge base for the timing belt write up but found it is MIA. Does anyone have a pdf or something they could mail me? I looked on the web and didn't find much but if a link to the timing belt procedure still exists I would be grateful.
Regards, George
