How about a cross over?  I’ve been eyeing the Ford Edge - AWD, wagon-like proportions, but built on the Taurus platform, so it rides and handles more like a car than a truck.  Here’s one in your neck of the woods (where “neck of the woods” is somewhere in Maine where you can see a pine tree. :)
