[V8] Alarmingly Loud

If the lock cylinders on either door break it can cause it to go off. I'm not sure but I think it will disable the starter as well. Check to make sure both door cylinders lock and unlock as they are supposed to. If either turn all the way around you have problems. My passenger side lock did this - I was able to center it and it quit going off. Its been years though so don't be mad if I'm wrong!

Hope this helps.

Well, I went to drive to the store
last night when the alarm went off when I unlocked the
door.....Haven't had the alarm go off in 13 yrs and was
amazed at how loud it was compared to the duck quack when
it's set.  Took about 10 tries lock/unlock to get it to
shut up.  Trying to find a simple way to disarm it till
I can figure out what's wrong.  I seem to recall that
the alarm is armed by the switch in drivers door, but since
I've never had to mess with it, not sure.  I've got
spares of everything, but was hoping it would be as simple
as removing switch/jumpering switch.  From my limited
ability to read wiring diagrams, I'm leaning on
removing.  Any ideas would be welcome as my girlfriend
needs to borrow it, and can't have it freaking out.
 Hope all's well, Tom
