Hey all, thanks for the responses.....I tried today to replicate, but it just wouldn't cooperate.  Lock/unlocked 30-40 times and all was normal.  I did pull the drivers contact switch and it felt a bit gritty(currently have no voltmeter as i tried to test a battery with the leads in the wrong position and smoked it)...so since I couldn't test it, replaced with one I found in a box that was in a baggie and labled "almost new" in not my handwriting.....kinda looked like Ron's handwriting...Ha.  Guess I'll just wait and see if it acts up again....maybe it was the moon.  Speaking of the moon, went up to the Mt.Baker ski area that night armed with my slightly too big 500mm lens....was hoping for a shot of the moon over Mt. Shuksan, but only got the moon and a tiny part of the north ridge.  Tom
