[V8] no instrument lighting 94 V8

My experience is that the rheostat is the weak link. 
I wish I could find the Helm manual someone once said they had for the instrument cluster.

Lights on, no dash illumination. Nothing, Not even the Autocheck or trans
gear selection display illumination. Lights off, things are normal.

Will be working on it in the morning.

Any ideas appreciated.
