[V8] Fuel pump size

Hey, its come to my attention that the V8 had 2 fuel pumps....the only one I've ever seen is the larger 040(or the one I pulled from a parts car with original pump with bosch 580 464 991/audi 441 905 091 A/B.  
know the 040 superceded this.  apparently some came with thinner 43mm vdo pump and different basket.  Anyone have a spare larger basket/strainer....Im about to send my only spare off to Luis who's trying to get an oem 5-speed back on the road, and feel naked without a spare anything....just checking and wondering if anyones seen these smaller pumps?(bosch 69420/audi 8a0906091g courtesy of allan who also has this smaller pump....  any pump baskets sitting around doing nothing in western mass....ha, tom
