[V8] Buyer for my car?

I don't recall what Roger was asking for his car back in 2013, Roger please refresh my poor memory, but it apparently was too much for the V8 buying public. I would agree with Paul Jager that a clean, straight, all options functional, no rips, tears or sagging interior, all mechanical's are in good condition and that I should be able to drive it for 2 years and just put gas and oil in it is worth about $5000.00. If that's not Roger's car then subtract the repair costs from that.
Dave had the misfortune of having his 5 speed totaled out in an accident. He had a buyer for his car, the insurance company, and they had to buy the car. It was a matter of how well Dave could market his car to get the maximum for it. He obviously did a very good job to get $7000.00.
Roger, it sounds like you have a bird that is fluttering between a bush and your hand. You need to get that bird in your hand. You need to give him a figure that is not so high that he fly's away and not so low that he comes in and knocks you down even more. Are you going to fish or cut bait, $it or get off the pot. This is the same dilemma we all go through when we sell a car that has brought us joy and misery. A year ago I sold my wife's 2000 Passat 4Motion with 164,000 miles on it. We had owned it since 2004 and 48,000 miles. We really enjoyed the car. But in the last 18 months it had cost me about $3000.00 in repairs and I could see more in the next 2 years. Then there's the fact that it becomes less and less dependable. We both still work full time and need at least one dependable vehicle. I guess we could always fall back on our son in law and his Honda Accord. I sold the Passat for $3400.00. I was asking more with no bites, I lowered it some got a bite and reeled him in. He basically paid for a timing belt job, new battery, new alternator, new power steering pump, a couple of CV boots and gotta nice car to go with it.
It's not going to be easy but you can do this Roger. As nice as your car is it's going to get harder and harder to repair. Then when things break you start questioning the value of the car to the cost of the repair, then you try and find ways to fix it just enough to get you through to the next repair. Now your looking for that bird that flew away and hes no where to be found. You fix the car so it's good enough to get to the next repair and on and on and on until you have a 1990 V8 that's held together with duct tape and bailing wire that no one wants. It's kind a like the movie Ground Hog Day with Bill Murray, Love that guy, Saw him at the Ryder Cup this year, can't stop laughing.
