Well, since we've had almost our yearly rainfall in 3 months, the water leak in the 5-speed wasn't fixing itself. Sunny today and since I had mounted something new on the boat, and had a freshly opened tube of 3M 4200, decided to have another look. Noticed the 3 large grommets where wiring bundles come thru had some flaky brown stuff smeared on them(form-a-gasket?)....Anyway silicone lubed them to get them all fresh and since I didn't want to permanently glue them in, left it at that. I then did the same to hood cable grommet. Just to the right of hood cable grommet is a small round rubber plug that I've noticed before, but paid no attention to. When I pulled that out I could see foam below....stuck my finger in and was totally soaked. Filled the hole with the caulking, then buried it under more. That hole is directly above ecu and wiring bundle(where leak is). Anyone have any idea what that plug is for aside from an engineered way to allow water in? Ha. It's in the low point of drain channel. Gonna give it a day or 2 then take the hose to it....Think I got it. Now to the rack/heater core/maybe engine removal....I love this car why?....Tom
