I may have figured this out to a point. In a "Revised KF Recall" those 2 parts are to be removed from the vehicle and discarded.
A new Air bag sensor and bracket is to be installed under the center console.
The new air bag sensor incorporates the 2 parts that are discarded.
So I may have to look at the sensor is going bad as far as holding a reserve amount of power.
The reserve power is there in case the main power, the battery, is disconnected in an impact
and the a second impact occurred and the air bag needed to be deployed.

Subject: [V8] Air Bag Light On
Looking for some insight to this somewhat perplexing issue.
I've had this issue for a couple years now and just wanted to try and fix it.
The Air Bag light comes on like it should when you start the car, but stays on for about 2 minuets and the goes out.
I tried checking for codes but none show up. If I shut the car off and restart it right away the light stays on the same.
My thought was that what ever held a reserve power for the system just could not hold a charge anymore.
With some searching I found that under the rear seat on the drivers side is a part,
" 443959659" " Energy reserve for models with air bag, drivers side."
So I decided to replace it with one off of Ebay for $10.00 including shipping.
I go to switch it out with the one in the car and Surprise!!!! I don't have one. It's missing and the connector
is taped up with electritions tape. Right next to it is supposed to be the
"Voltage converter for models with air bag, drivers side." 443959663B.
The connector for that is also wrapped in electrtions tape.
So I may buy a used one of those and put it in and see what happens.
But what is causing the light to stay on? Why would these 2 parts be removed?
And how could it function properly missing these 2 parts?
Bob
Is everyone's seat belt on? I want to try something.
