Unless the boot is cracked and the grease is gone I wouldn't assume the CV's are toast, they are pretty robust. I would be looking at LCA bushings, Sub-frame Bushings (they don't like Pentosin leaks), even Upper Strut mounts & Bearings.

Subject: [V8] CV Joints
Hey all,
The '92 V8 is making a thud type noise when I make a turn to the left or right. I'm assuming CV joints? Any advice on where/ what to do to get good condition/ new replacements?
