[V8] Timing belt job

I think the after market parts are not as good. I had problems with a water pump, and I disassembled the oem bearings and compared to aftermarket they had more balls. In my opinion the oem parts are good for a minimum of two belts - but I am also able to eat the labor if I had to replace a part. If everything looks good I personally would be tempted to reuse the oem stuff but you are talking about bearings with almost 30 year old lube in them too.
I often pop out bearing seals and clean/regrease them. Never had a problem.
Not smart perhaps but then I never claimed to be a stable genius 😼
One big detail is the tensioner pivot bearing/bushing. Lots of people had weird noises after belt jobs because coolant gets into that bushing and gets sticky.
I went with a dry lube there, but no lube is probably ok too. The coolant gets there when you mess with the upper radiator hose.

The car has 85K on it now, the belt was replaced at 58K but that was in 2007. I think the dealer just did the belt then and not all the other parts because of the low miles.
