You really didn't read my posts. I'll say it again. The real crops used to
produce biofuels in quantity will be permaculture crops, far, far out yielding
any annual crops. And other things like municipal waste, sewage waste, etc.
A lot of the high yielding oil crops, like oil palm can't be grown in Canada,
you're right. But trees and switchgrass (and other native prairie
grasses) can. As can canola and opium poppies, of course. Sorghum for ethanol.
And you're right, fuel usuage needs to be greatly reduced. But you're dead
wrong about the EPA stopping the importation of the VW Lupos and other neat
diesel cars -- Mercedes and VW and other foreign automakers have said it very
clearly: None of their good diesel cars will come to the US until they have
clean diesel to burn. It's the automakers decision, not the EPA -- although I
suppose you could say it's the gov't fault because they won't mandate the clean
diesel fuel.
And guess why that is, eh? The oil industry (now that Enron is the gov't and
the gov't is Enron) is hand in glove with the US auto industry, and neither want
fuel efficient vehicles, it would cut down on their profits.
I don't recall who it was who questioned my statement about all the Enron
people in gov't, but it's a fact, I'm not going to bother to do your research
for you, but just start doing a google on the cabinet members and all of
Dubbya's appointments to dept heads. Not to mention the members of the Klinton
gov't who are now on the Enron board. It's all just one big incestuous nest of
snakes (although I hate to defame snakes that way) -- the Great Satan, the New
World Order that Dubbya's demented dad announced years ago.
