  Ron's reply was what I was going to suggest as well.  Rather than swapping
things over to a 9004 type bulb (just more expensive and most of the kits
will be DOT, so no better lighting when done) go to a H4 direct, bolt in
replacement.  :)  Hella is what I've always used and they're great!  I've
heard some of the Cibie (sp) were/are even better but harder to find and
it was some of the older series that I'd heard all the good stuff about.

are plug and go and with an H4 bulb you have a choice of wattage's, however
the standard ones tend to do quite well.  They just put most of the light on
the road rather than up in the air, out in the fields, on your bumper,
oncoming
driver's eyes, etc.
