I read a bulleting somewhere that said you should pull the cold start
knob after the engine starts or while cranking. (Strange, I know!)
In my experience, sometimes the knob will pull out only a little bit-
and like you said, it could be forced... but probably not the best. I
found that if I crank the engine, I can then pull it all the way out.
Let me know if this works for you! I'm curious.
