[Vwdiesel] shifter linkage Vanagon adjustment

As usual I opened mouth before checking foot-- Upon actually trying to drive
it I find I have ONLY 1st and 3rd and 4th. No reverse and no 2nd.  Back
under the vehicle.  I used Lock Tite I was so smug.  I will join the others
combing the Vanagon list archives.  Jim Arnott---any suggestions?
