[Vwdiesel] Black smoke - low power

  Well, it's sure not an 82 engine then!  ;-)  Honestly you might have better
zip with the Rabbit pump, so long as it is a yellow dot pump.  It's not
mandatory to change it though.  You can just turn the fueling down a
little in the event of too much black smoke at full (or close to it) throttle.
Initial setting of the throttle arm isn't fun if things have moved.  There
are
some fine marks that have to line up.  Mine got looser than I wanted one
time and it took about 45 minutes of put it on, take it off, until I got it
right.  My experience was it either wouldn't start or would only idle at
full throttle, or it would idle at nearly full throttle when it was on wrong.
