[Vwdiesel] VW diesel pickup

Hi VW diesel fans I have built a small pickup out of a '91 diesel Jetta, a
wooden body similar to an old Radio Flyer wagon sticking out the trunk, with
a rack at the back end which lines up with two roof racks so I can carry
lonfg stuff on top.

That's great - someone who used to live in my town had a Saab 900 which he
ended up crashing one night. Only the rear upper part of the body was
damaged, so he had a body shop graft the rear section of a Toyota pickup cab
complete with sliding rear window into the section just behind the front
seats. The roof was removed from there back down to the bottom of the side
windows. Sounds funny, but it really came out looking nice and was very
functional. I wish I had a picture of it to share.
My old Cub scout leader made a pickup out of his aircooled Beetle. He
constructed a wooden flatbed stake body over the engine and also a wooden
bulkhead, for lack of a better term, behind the front seats. His vanity
license plate was "BUGGER". I don't think his wife got it! :-))
I'd definitely like to see pictures of your newly constructed truck -
please e-mail them to me. If you'd like, I can put them on an image server
and provide a link for others.
