I found a washer that seems to work (no leaks so far).  I think the
exhaust from the front of the engine is caused by the leaky injectors
letting fuel druel down the front of the head and then burning off.
I've ordered rebuilt injectors.

I replaced the fuel filter, and the fuel hose from the top of the filter
to the pump.  It is clear enough to see bubbles.  After this first "run"
there doesn't seem to be any more bubbles.

Yeah, I know.  Thank you so much for the very detailed instructions on
installing the timing belt and timing the pump.  I'll report back once I
properly time everything again using your method.

Maybe I'll take some pics too.  The head looks new after I had it
rebuilt.
