[Vwdiesel] Vanagon w/ dead engine -- engine sources needed

Do you know if the engine is really dead? An overheated engine doesn't
necessarily mean dead.  Heads and head gaskets are pretty easy to replace.  Can
you get any further info from the P.O.?  Did it use a lot of oil prior to
demise?  Was it driven long after overheating?
