I live north of Bolton, ON near Palgrave, and just a couple of days before this
thread started our local UPS driver showed up in one. It looks sweet!.

What a small world. To echo the sentiment of everone else, I too would love a
diesel van, but what I really long for is a VW Sharan TDI...*sigh*.

Cheers

I am the centre manager of a UPS delivery centre in Stratford, ON. I just =
took delivery of six new Mercedes-Benz sprinters for my centre last week. =
Boy, are these vans nice. Smooth, quiet, fuel efficient, and they actually=
have effective heaters! (ask any UPS driver who's ever driven the older tr=
ucks in the winter-they'll know what I mean). With the old GM 292 inline-6=
gas trucks, we averaged 7.8 mpg (imperial). After one week of use (on gre=
en engines) we are averaging 26 mpg, and this is under hard, stop-start cou=
rier use. These are powered by a 2.7L inline-5, common rail DI, intercoole=
d, turbodiesel. 154 hp @ 3800 rpm. They're fast, too. I took one on a 40=
0 km run last week and found the governor, at 140 km/h. The old 292s toppe=
d out at 110 on level ground. My drivers love them. UPS apparently ordere=
d 1700 of them for North America, and I believe Fedex already has a couple =
thousand in cirulation in the USA. As soon as a civilian version comes alo=
ng, I'm buyin' one!
