It is a DaimlerChrysler group engine.  The Jeep Grand Cherokee is available
in Europe with this engine.  Mercedes is a leader in diesel engine
manufacturing.  Remember, they also produce highway tractors, straight
trucks, and medium-duty trucks for the European, South American, and African
markets.
