I had an "Autobahn" block heater (VW's brand) in the old worn out motor. Its
about 10 years old. Even before I retired the motor, I was afraid the block
heater might fall out or leak massively on a trip, leaving me stranded, because
it was so old. I elected not to use it in the new motor, although all the pieces
came out when I removed it.
